Mahomet-Seymour's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond Knights with a sharp 15-3 win. The Bulldogs not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since March 23, 2024.

Kate Severns made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Severns was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kalista Granadino, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Maddie Logsdon, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Mahomet-Seymour always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond only posted an OBP of .333.

Mahomet-Seymour's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mahomet-Seymour will head out to face off against Galesburg at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond, they will venture away from home to challenge Newton at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
