Dallas Thompson and Briana Browder did some serious damage despite the final result: Thompson scored a run and stole Three bases. while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances, while Browder went 1-for-3 with one home run. Those three stolen bases gave Thompson a new career-high.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Leto). They blew past Freedom 22-5 on Saturday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Falcons with their most commanding win of the season.
Isabella Lugo made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up four earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Lugo was also big at the plate, scoring four runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.
In other batting news, Jaliyna Camacho and Jayla Fernandez did most of the damage at the plate: Camacho scored five runs while going 4-for-5, while Fernandez scored three runs and stole a base while going 4-for-5. With that strong performance, Camacho is now averaging an impressive 2.4 runs per game. Miyah Suarez was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.
Leto always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .756. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .625 or higher in three consecutive matchups.
Sickles' loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Leto, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Sickles has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Leto struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went Sickles' way against Leto in their previous matchup back in April of 2021, as Sickles made off with a 14-0 win. Does Sickles have another victory up their sleeve, or will Leto turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
