Softball Recap: Coppell Has No Trouble Against Allen

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Frenship, Coppell was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Allen Eagles with a sharp 11-4 victory. The result was nothing new for the Cowboys, who have now won five matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Lily Bowen spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four runs (all of which were unearned) on six hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Cecilia Bourque was a standout: she scored two runs while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Praytor, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Coppell's win bumped their record up to 7-5-1. As for Allen, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-8-1.

Coppell didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 5-3 victory against Colleyville Heritage on the 28th. As for Allen, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Marcus on the 28th.
