The biggest upset of the week belonged to Evergreen, who took down 36th ranked Conifer, 17-10. Ryan Hays ran for 111 yards and caught one passes for 18 yards in the win.
Lutheran was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fourth to first in 3A Metro - West. Earlier in the week, the Lions triumphed over Summit 10-0.
D'Evelyn's dynamic duo of Cody Marvel and Connor Skelton proved tough for Alameda to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Marvel threw for 319 yards and four touchdowns and Skelton had 171 yards receiving. Trent Walker helped D'Evelyn's passing attack out by catching one ball for 46 yards.
On the ground, the Jaguars' Marvel has rushed for 428 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Skelton. The D'Evelyn star has 25 catches for 642 yards.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Lutheran takes on second place Conifer. Lutheran topped the Tigers last week, while the Lobos lost to the Cougars.
Next week's game between Arvada and Evergreen will feature a tantalizing aerial matchup as John Martinez tests his arm against Zach Propst's defensive ability. Arvada's Martinez has recorded 894 yards and 12 touchdowns this year, while Rob Molholm's team's Propst has three interceptions to his name.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Conifer takes on Daryl Moe's team. Larry Fitzmaurice's team has allowed 50 points this season, while the Lions have given up 41. The Lobos allowed 17 points last week as they fell to the Cougars.
