The NorthPoint Christian Academy NightHawks had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They snuck past Providence Classical with a 58-53 victory on Thursday. The victory was just what NorthPoint Christian Academy needed coming off of a 66-41 loss in their prior contest.
NorthPoint Christian Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Talan Pollack led the charge by dropping a double-double on 19 points and 17 rebounds. Tyler Wagner was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Providence Classical's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Xan Rahalawicz, who scored 14 points along with eight assists and eight rebounds. Rahalawicz hasn't dropped below two steals for 19 straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaac Martin, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.
NorthPoint Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 12-9. As for Providence Classical, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-8 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. NorthPoint Christian Academy will challenge Valor Preparatory Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Valor Preparatory Academy has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 618 points over their last nine contests. As for Providence Classical, they will head out on the road to challenge St. Anne Catholic at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
