The Oak Ridge Trojans will venture away from home to take on the Rocklin Thunder at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Oak Ridge has 13 straight wins, Rocklin has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.
Oak Ridge barely beat Del Oro the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Oak Ridge was the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Del Oro on Monday.
Oak Ridge never let Del Oro on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 28-26, 25-17, 25-19.

Jack Reiser and Sam Heintz were among the main playmakers for Oak Ridge as the former had seven digs and one assist and the latter had 14 assists and three digs. That's the most assists Heintz has posted since back in March of 2024.
Meanwhile, Rocklin came up short against Folsom on Monday and fell 3-1. While the Thunder didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bulldogs 25-17 in the first set.
Rocklin started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 17-25, 25-21, 25-18, 25-17.
Rocklin's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Oak Ridge, their victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-0.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Wednesday's match: Oak Ridge has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 5.9 aces per game. However, it's not like Rocklin struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.2 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Oak Ridge skirted past Rocklin 3-2 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Oak Ridge since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
