Lake Travis (Austin, Texas) jumped out to an early lead against
Canyon (New Braunfels, Texas) and never looked back on the way to a 20-6 victory on Saturday.
The Cavaliers scored six points in the first quarter. Lake Travis scored on a
Varshaun Nixon touchdown run.
After taking the lead on a touchdown in the first quarter, LT led 19-4 at the half.
The defeat comes as a step back for Canyon, who notched a 30-16 victory over Killeen in its previous outing. The win was a nice bounce back for the Austin school, which lost to Judson last week, 25-19.
Canyon (1-1) goes up against Roosevelt in a non-conference game matchup next week, while Lake Travis (1-1) locks horns with Round Rock Westwood also in a non-conference game.
