In what's become a running theme this season, the Independence Patriots gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 66-20 win over Rocky River on the road. Winning may never get old, but Independence sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Independence's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kamryn Kitchen, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Kitchen is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Chloe Moss, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Several Ravens players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Camille Montgomery, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds. Makenzie Michael was another key contributor, scoring three points along with eight rebounds and four blocks.
Independence's victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-4. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.9 points per game. As for Rocky River, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-10.
Independence will look to defend their home court on Friday against Butler at 6:00 p.m. Hopefully Butler focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Tuesday. As for Rocky River, they will head out on the road to challenge Garinger at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Garinger focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 28 two weeks ago.
