Garces (Bakersfield, Calif.) defeated East Bakersfield (Bakersfield, Calif.) 55-0 on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a touchdown pass by
Cruise Adams to
Dominic Frasch in the first quarter, the Rams led 42-0 at the half.
Garces expanded its lead to 49 points entering the fourth quarter. GHS scored once in the quarter on a touchdown run by Croney.
A 28-point first quarter helped the Rams secure the big victory. Garces scored on a touchdown pass by Adams to Frasch, a Adams touchdown pass to Frasch, a touchdown run by Pacheco and a touchdown pass by Adams to
Jake Sweaney in the quarter.
GHS's most effective player was Adams. The senior quarterback threw three touchdowns.
The Rams came into the game allowing 15.3 points per game. The Blades' zero points were well below their season average of 19.9 per game.
Garces also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 33-3.
The loss comes after East Bakersfield defeated Highland 34-6 last week.
East Bakersfield (1-8) will play a Southeast Yosemite game against North next week, while Garces (8-1) will take on Tehachapi also in a Southeast Yosemite game.
