It was a good run, but the Edgewood Mustangs unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Saturday. They were beaten by Paoli 48-18. Having soared to a lofty 69 points in the game before, Edgewood couldn't push the score so high this time.
Edgewood's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Allison Bland, who scored 3 points along with 6 steals, and Leia Frye who scored 6 points.
It was another big night for Carley Higgins, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 12 rebounds for Paoli. The match was Higgins' ninth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jehrico Hopper, who scored 13 points along with 6 rebounds.
Edgewood's loss dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Paoli, their victory bumped their record up to 4-6.
Edgewood will head out on the road to face off against Indian Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Paoli, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Clarksville at 7:30 p.m. Clarksville is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
