The Skyline Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a 52-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of Brighton. Skyline has not had much luck with Brighton recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Skyline's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Leelu Bare, who scored six points along with six assists and five steals, and Mia Johnson who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Johnson has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Lauren Johnson, who scored 11 points along with two steals.
Brighton was led to victory by Charlotte Oneal and Lucy Chin. Oneal dropped a double-double on ten points and 16 rebounds, while Chin scored 17 points along with six rebounds. Chin is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for three games straight. Another player making a difference was Olivia Stephens, who scored ten points along with nine rebounds.
Skyline's defeat dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Brighton, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.
Skyline will head out on the road to face off against Alta at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Alta will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak. As for Brighton, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Highland at 7:00 p.m. Highland comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
