The Polo Marcos had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They strolled past Orangeville with points to spare, taking the game 78-62. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Polo's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brock Soltow led the charge by dropping a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. Soltow is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Nolan Hahn, who scored 11 points along with four steals and three blocks.
Polo pushed their record up to 9-7 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.0 points per game. As for Orangeville, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-12.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Polo will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Forreston at 6:45 p.m. on January 18th. As for Orangeville, they will take on Pecatonica at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Pecatonica has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 296 points over their last four matches.
