Bolivar-Richburg has gone 8-2 against Fillmore recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Wolverines are taking a road trip to take on the Eagles at 5:00 p.m. Bolivar-Richburg is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season.
While Bolivar-Richburg's victory against Andover wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Wolverines sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 win over the Panthers on Monday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Wolverines as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Braden Zilker was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off three hits. He has become a key player for Bolivar-Richburg: the team is undefeated when he allows at most two earned runs, but 6-7 otherwise. Zilker was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Landon Barkley, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one triple, and two RBI. Ryder Iantorno also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Meanwhile, Fillmore got the win against Hinsdale Central on Monday by a conclusive 17-3. Considering the Eagles have won eight matchups by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Like Bolivar-Richburg, Fillmore also got a great game from a two-way player: Isaac Wilcox. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over 3.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off one hit. Wilcox has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one hit in five consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Fillmore let Damon Potter and James Hillman run wild. Potter got on base in four of his five plate appearances with four stolen bases and five runs, while Hillman went 2-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Potter continues to improve, besting his previous run total in each of the last three games he's played. Connor McCumiskey was another key player, going 3-for-4 with four RBI.
Fillmore always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .523. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hinsdale Central only posted an OBP of .333.
Bolivar-Richburg's record is now 11-7. As for Fillmore, their record now sits at 10-8.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Bolivar-Richburg has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 6.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Fillmore struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 6.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Bolivar-Richburg skirted past Fillmore 3-1 when the teams last played two weeks ago. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolverines since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
