They were the clear victor by a 9-0 margin over the Valiants on Wednesday. Considering Warrenton has won six games by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Talon McGrorty made a splash while hitting and pitching. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 15 over seven innings pitched. McGrorty was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.
McGrorty wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Ryder Sturgell, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-5.
Hoquiam has not been sharp recently as the team has lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season. As for Warrenton, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-2.
