Avalon is on a five-game streak of home wins, while Milford is on a six-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Avalon Eagles will take on the Milford Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Even though Avalon has not done well against Trinidad recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Avalon simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Trinidad 45-12 on the road. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 29-7.
Avalon found their leader in underclassman Brooklyn De La Garza, who scored 24 points. That makes it six consecutive games in which De La Garza has scored at least a third of Avalon's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Haley Zaidle, who scored 12 points.
Milford posted their biggest win since November 17, 2023 on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 58-35 margin over Bynum.
Avalon has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. As for Milford, their win bumped their record up to 11-4.
