The War Hill Christian Academy Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They fell 65-54 to Grace Christian Academy. While losing is never fun, War Hill Christian Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 361st, while Grace Christian Academy is ranked 71st).
Several Warriors players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Parker Rawlings, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Rawlings has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. Aaron Stewart was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with three steals.
Ethan Riesberg was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 24 points and 18 rebounds for Grace Christian Academy. The matchup was Riesberg's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Christian Barkley, who scored 16 points.
War Hill Christian Academy bumped their record down to 3-5 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Grace Christian Academy, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-1.
War Hill Christian Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Maranatha Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 2, 2024. Grace Christian Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against HOPE Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on December 15th. HOPE Christian Academy comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
