Softball Recap: Hamilton Wins Going Away Against Carbon Hill

The home team had come away the winner the last six times Hamilton and Carbon Hill had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Aggies put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 10-4 win on Thursday. The Aggies might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 contests by six runs or more this season.

Molly Sandlin made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over seven innings while giving up four earned runs off ten hits (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Emory Lynch, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Tyler Stringer, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Hamilton's record is now 20-17. As for Carbon Hill, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 13 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-19 record this season.

Hamilton will take on Hoover at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Carbon Hill, they will be playing at home against Dora at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. Carbon Hill is facing Dora at the right time seeing as Dora is stuck on an 11-game losing streak.
