The Trenton Tigers will venture away from home to take on the Fort Meade Miners at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Trenton is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They beat Chiefland by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 11-4. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won 14 contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Mason VunCannon was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs.

In other batting news, Ty Moses was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jordan Marlo, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Fort Meade made easy work of Marathon on Tuesday and carried off a 15-1 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Miners.
Like Trenton, Fort Meade also got a great game from a two-way player: Zachary Brooks. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits (and only one walk). Brooks was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lucas De Amicis, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. Eli Harrell was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.
Fort Meade always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .615. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Marathon only posted an OBP of .304.
Trenton is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Fort Meade, their record is now 17-12.
Trenton took their victory against Fort Meade in their previous matchup back in May of 2017 by a conclusive 9-2 score. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Miners have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
