The Denver West Cowboys suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Friday. They had to suffer through a rough 88-46 loss at the hands of Northfield. Denver West has not had much luck with Northfield recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Several Cowboys players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jacob Dallas, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. Jeremiah Parker was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds.
Leading Northfield to victory were Daquan Slayton and Justus Michael. Slayton scored 12 points along with nine rebounds and seven steals, while Michael scored 31 points along with six rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Michael has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jordan Jefferson, who scored nine points along with five assists.
Denver West's defeat dropped their record down to 11-2. As for Northfield, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-2.
Denver West will look to defend their home court on Monday against Hinkley at 7:00 p.m. Hinkley will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 256th, while Denver West is ranked 104th). As for Northfield, they will head out on the road to challenge Thomas Jefferson at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Thomas Jefferson is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
