Booneville has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Osceola Seminoles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
With a playoff game on the line, Booneville rose to the challenge on Friday. They blew past Drew Central 56-14 at home. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 49-0.
Meanwhile, Osceola never let their opponents score on Friday. They claimed a resounding 64-0 victory over Fouke at home. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Osceola had established a 56 point advantage.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Osceola to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tyler Bell, who threw for 156 yards and two touchdowns while completing 85.7% of his passes, and also punched in a rushing score. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremiah Jacobs, who rushed for 157 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.7 yards per carry.
Booneville has yet to lose a match at home this season, leaving them with a 9-2 record. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 1-9 Cedarville and 1-9 Greenland (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 30.9% over those games). As for Osceola, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-8.
Booneville strolled past Osceola in their previous meeting back in November of 2022 by a score of 35-20. Does Booneville have another victory up their sleeve, or will Osceola turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
