Los Altos is 8-2 against the Mustangs since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Los Altos Conquerors will head out on the road to take on the Walnut Mustangs at 6:30 p.m. Los Altos knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 15 matchups -- so hopefully the Mustangs likes a good challenge.
Last Tuesday, Los Altos strolled past the Raiders with points to spare, taking the game 64-46. Given Los Altos' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 248th, while the Raiders are ranked 554th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Walnut waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with three straight wins but they left with four. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat South Hills 73-32 at home.
Nathan Yen was his usual excellent self, scoring 13 points. Another player making a difference was Corey Fluker III, who scored ten points along with six rebounds.
Los Altos is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season. As for Walnut, they pushed their record up to 20-7 with that win, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season.
Los Altos strolled past the Mustangs in their previous meeting back in January by a score of 55-37. The rematch might be a little tougher for Los Altos since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
