The Tanalian Lynx suffered their biggest defeat since January 10th on Wednesday. Their rough 70-46 loss to Koliganek might stick with them for a while. Tanalian was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Koliganek apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2019.
Despite the defeat, Tanalian saw an underclassman step up: Ray Chmiel scored 16 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Chmiel has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Davis, who scored eight points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Koliganek to victory, but perhaps none more so than Deven Johnson, who scored 18 points. Tristan Kayoukluk was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Tanalian has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season. As for Koliganek, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.
Tanalian on the road again on Thursday and play against Chief Ivan Blunka at 1:30 p.m. on January 25th. Chief Ivan Blunka comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Koliganek, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Sand Point at 12:00 p.m. on January 25th. Hopefully Sand Point focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Wednesday.
