It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Pocola Indians can now relate to. They took a serious blow against Colcord on Friday, falling 50-20. Pocola's loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
Pocola's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Aj Lyons-Jerrell, who gained 84 total yards and two touchdowns. Lyons-Jerrell has been hot recently, having posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Garrett Scott, who picked up 95 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Pocola's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Colcord, they have yet to lose a match at home this season, leaving them with a 10-1 record.
Pocola does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Colcord will take on Woodland at TBD on Friday. Woodland is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
