The Springfield Bulldogs were the 59-42 winner over the Parkview Baptist Eagles when they last played one another back in November of 2017, but their luck changed this time around. Springfield was beaten by Parkview Baptist 70-40 on Thursday. Springfield was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-18.
Despite the loss, Springfield saw an underclassman step up: Dequincy Davis scored six points. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Burches, who scored five points along with six rebounds.
Springfield has been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season. As for Parkview Baptist, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-5.
Springfield won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Episcopal at 4:30 p.m. on January 5th. Episcopal is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak. Parkview Baptist won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Doyle on January 5th. Doyle knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matchups -- so hopefully Parkview Baptist likes a good challenge.
