Lyla Creek made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-2. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two).
In other pitching news, Meredith Cavazos looked comfortable as she tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one walk in seven consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial got a massive performance out of Bella Chapa, who fired off three home runs and 12 RBI while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave Chapa a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Parker Malone, who fired off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 4-for-4.
