The Broken Bow Indians will face off against the Ord Chanticleers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Broken Bow is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.4 points per game this season.
Last Friday, in a tight game that could have gone either way, Broken Bow made off with a 48-47 victory over Amherst.
It was another big night for Dominic Nowak, who went 7-for-16 en route to 18 points and four steals. Another player making a difference was Braxtton Johnson, who posted 11 points.
Meanwhile, Ord was fully in charge on Friday, breezing past Ravenna 67-34. The Chanticleers have beaten the Bluejays the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Bluejays has come to flipping the script.
Ord's win came from a few key players Broken Bow will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Landon Critel, who scored 14 points. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in assists (four). Will Lange was another key player, putting up eight points and eight boards.
Ord smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in six consecutive matchups.
Ord's win bumped their record up to 10-13. As for Broken Bow, their victory bumped their record up to 8-14.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Broken Bow has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 24.3 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Ord struggles in that department as they've been averaging 27.9 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Broken Bow didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Ord in their previous meeting two weeks ago, but they still walked away with a 64-60 win. Does Broken Bow have another victory up their sleeve, or will Ord turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
