The Tri-Township Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fifth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Boone Grove, falling 71-37. Tri-Township has not had much luck with Boone Grove recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Tri-Township's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Carter Welkie, who scored seven points, and Dillon Stewart who scored six points along with six rebounds.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Boone Grove to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jack Stevens, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Andrew Batesole, who scored 12 points.
Tri-Township's loss was their 11th straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 3-10. As for Boone Grove, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tri-Township will take on South Central at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. South Central is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. As for Boone Grove, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Hebron at 11:00 a.m. on January 20th. One thing working in Hebron's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five games.
