Aaliyah Chavez continued her hot streak on Friday by dropping her 20th-straight game with at least 16 points. She went 5 of 10 on her way to 16 points along with seven assists and six steals. She was up against Tascosa and has quite the history against that squad, as she also had a great game the last time she faced them back in November of 2023.

Chavez and Monterey will be playing in front of their home fans against Amarillo at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The Plainsmen had to take a loss when they last met the Sandies, but Chavez had little to do with the loss: she almost dropped a double-double on 50 points and nine boards.
