It was a good run, but the Hobbton Wildcats unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 58-46 to North Duplin. Hobbton was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rebels apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Hobbton's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ashawd Wynn, who scored 19 points. That was a full 41.3% of Hobbton's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Dai'vian Murrell was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
North Duplin's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Dujuan Armwood, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Donavan Armwood, who scored eight points.
Hobbton's defeat dropped their record down to 4-13. As for North Duplin, they pushed their record up to 8-9 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home.
Hobbton's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on February 2nd. As for North Duplin, they will be playing at home against the Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Averaging 56.13 points so far this season, Neuse Charter's high-powered offense has been in full-swing lately, so the Rebels better be ready for a challenge.
