On Saturday, the Boulder City Eagles faced the Lake Mead Academy Eagles in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Boulder City came out on top against Lake Mead Academy by a score of 62-50. The win was just business as usual for Boulder City, who after four games remain undefeated this season.
Boulder City got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Sean Pendleton out in front who went 6 for 11 from beyond the arc en route to 20 points and 3 assists. That's the first time this season that Pendleton scored 15 or more points. Luke Wright was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with four steals.
Lake Mead Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Gavin Cummins, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds. Cummins set a new season high mark in rebounds with seven. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Rhodes, who scored six points along with 11 rebounds and three steals.
Boulder City's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Lake Mead Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Boulder City and Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon will face off at 6:30 p.m. on December 4th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Nevada Rankings (they are ranked 54th, while Boulder City is ranked third). Lake Mead Academy and Adelson will face off at 6:30 p.m. on December 5th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
