Reynolds on the road by a decisive 40-22 margin. Atkins has struggled against R.J. Reynolds recently, as their contest on Wednesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
R.J. Reynolds found their leader in underclassman Shyla Simms, who scored 15 points along with 7 rebounds. The match was Simms' fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Elliott Jessup, who scored 11 points.
Atkins' loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for R.J. Reynolds, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Atkins will take on West Forsyth at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully West Forsyth focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 last Wednesday. As for R.J. Reynolds, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Forsyth Home Educators at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Forsyth Home Educators is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
