Volleyball Recap: Rising Sun Has No Trouble Against Hauser

Rising Sun lost to Hauser back in September of 2023, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Shiners blew past the Jets 3-0. That three set margin sets a new team best for the Shiners this season.

While Rising Sun won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-18, 27-25.

Ryan Works paced Rising Sun's offense, picking up seven kills. Works got some help from Reese Merica and her 23 assists. Liv Graver controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Hayden Dickey and Regan Mack certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Dickey had ten digs and two aces, while Mack had seven kills, two aces, and one block.

The win made it two in a row for Rising Sun and bumps their season record up to 4-1. As for Hauser, their loss was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rising Sun will head out to square off against Oldenburg Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hauser, they will venture away from home to take on Jac-Cen-Del at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
