After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Palm Beach Gardens, the Jupiter Warriors were happy to have found some success on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Wellington 46-44. This was payback for Jupiter, who suffered a 36-31 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Despite the loss, Wellington still got an impressive performance from Madison Smith, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 14 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabby D'arcangelo, who scored three points along with three steals.
Jupiter's win bumped their record up to 5-14. As for Wellington, they now have a losing record at 10-11.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jupiter is on the road again on Thursday and plays the Rams at 7:30 p.m. on February 1st. Palm Beach Lakes presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Warriors in Florida (the Rams are ranked 139th, while the Warriors are ranked 338th). As for Wellington, they will head out on the road to challenge the Cobras at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
