The Laconia Sachems will square off against the Milford Spartans at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Laconia has four straight victories, Milford has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Laconia is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 27-9 margin over Hanover on Wednesday. The Sachems not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 9, 2024 (when they won 24-0).

Amaya Dutile was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched five innings while giving up three earned (and six unearned) runs off four hits. Dutile was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those two runs gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Payton Doherty was incredible, going 4-for-6 with four stolen bases, nine RBI, and three runs. Those four stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Kaitlyn Durfee was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, four runs, and three RBI.
Laconia always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .776. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Milford fell victim to Oyster River and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They came up short against the Bobcats, falling 9-0. The match marked the first time this season in which the Spartans were not able to get on the board.
Milford saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mya Coombs, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles.
Milford's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Laconia, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Laconia has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Milford struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.1 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Laconia suffered a grim 13-3 defeat to Milford in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Sachems avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
