Having just played yesterday, the Thornton Trojans will get right back to it and host the Skyview Wolverines at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Thornton has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Thornton scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They had just enough and edged Gateway out 61-59. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Meanwhile, Skyview put the finishing touches on their eighth blowout victory of the season on Thursday. They really took it to Gateway for the full four quarters, racking up a 73-17 victory at home. That 56 points margin sets a new team best for Skyview this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Skyview to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jada Kemm, who scored 19 points along with seven steals and six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Kemm has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Leila Estrada, who scored 15 points along with eight assists and six steals.
Thornton's victory bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Skyview, they pushed their record up to 11-3 with that win, which was their third straight at home.
Thornton took a serious blow against Skyview when the teams last played back in February of 2023, falling 61-23. The game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Thornton was down 41-6.
