The Cheyenne Mountain Red-Tailed Hawks will venture away from home to challenge the Golden Demons at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Cheyenne Mountain sitting on four straight wins and Golden on 20.
Cheyenne Mountain is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They walked away with a 5-2 victory over Windsor. Five seems to be a good number for the Red-Tailed Hawks as the team scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.
Charlie Scofield made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over six innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.
In other pitching news, Charlie Doyle looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit in four consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Colin Downs, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high.
Meanwhile, Golden faced Windsor in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Demons had just enough and edged out the Wizards 12-11. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Demons, who until this match were averaging 3.25 runs allowed.
Dylan Paulson was incredible, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Liam Leffert, who went 1-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Cheyenne Mountain's record now sits at 20-8-1. As for Golden, their record is now 25-3.
Saturday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Cheyenne Mountain hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .326. However, it's not like Golden struggles in that department as they've averaged .359. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Cheyenne Mountain couldn't quite get it done against Golden when the teams last played last Friday as they fell 7-4. Can the Red-Tailed Hawks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
