 Meanwhile, Pomona was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight  loss. They fell  8-3 to D'Evelyn. That's two games in a row now that Pomona has lost by  exactly five  runs.
 Conifer's defeat  ended  a  five-game streak of wins at home  dating back to last season and  dropped them to 3-6. As for Pomona, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.
 Conifer came up short against Pomona when the teams last played  back in May of 2023, falling  6-2. Can Conifer avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
