Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Scranton Prep). They never let the Scranton Knights get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory on Saturday. The win was some much needed relief for the Cavaliers as it spelled an end to their seven-game losing streak.
Abigail Wilce was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. Wilce was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two runs.
In other batting news, Scranton Prep got a massive performance out of Bella Dennebaum, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and three RBI. What's more, Dennebaum posted two runs, the most she's had since back in April. Emelia Williams was another key player, going 3-for-4 with five RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base.
Scranton Prep was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .450. They are 2-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Scranton Prep's victory bumped their record up to 6-12. As for Scranton, they are on a 17-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-17.
