B District 3 (8 Man) recap Oct. 16, 2012
Welch was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from seventh to fifth in B District 3 (8 Man). The Wildcats defeated South Coffeyville 44-12 earlier in the week.
Rejoice Christian extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Oaks-Mission, 50-0. The victory was the sixth in a row for the Eagles.
Tra Dodson provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Welch beat the Lions. He completed five passes for 71 yards and also ran for 183 yards. Dodson's favorite target this week was Devon Smith, who caught one pass for 49 yards.
Ryan Weathers put up the best numbers through the air as Coyle topped Watts. He finished with a total of three completions for 35 yards and two touchdowns. Weathers' favorite target this week was Heath Moorman, who caught one pass for 31 yards.
South Coffeyville's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Lions feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Wyatt Armstrong has thrown for 670 yards and five touchdowns this season, while Dillon Harrington has 11 catches for 296 yards. Armstrong also leads the league in rushing with 728 yards.
A big matchup in B District 3 (8 Man) this week will be when South Coffeyville takes on Woodland. At the moment, Craig Hood's team is in third, while the Cougars are in second.
Woodland took down Riverfield Country Day 66-16 last week, the largest margin of any game.
