The Fort Yukon Eagles were the 63-50 winner over the Minto Lakers when they last played one another back in March of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The New Year welcomed Fort Yukon with a 69-21 whooping from Minto on Thursday.
Minto got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Andrew David out in front who scored 22 points. Those 22 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Jeff Frank, who scored 16 points.
Fort Yukon's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Minto, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.
Fort Yukon does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Minto and Walter Northway will face off on January 5th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Walter Northway is out to stop a two-game streak of losses at home dating back to last season.
