After a string of three wins, the Mainland Buccaneers's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 58-57 to Dr. Phillips. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Mainland's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Seven Simmons, who scored 15 points. Nathan Kirk was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with 5 rebounds.
Mainland's defeat dropped their record down to 3-1. As for Dr. Phillips, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
