Baseball Recap: Revere Now 4-1 over Last Five Games

After losing to Woodridge the last time they met, Revere decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Minutemen came out on top against the Bulldogs by a score of 4-1 on Tuesday.

Revere got a great performance from Colin Haydu as he struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits (and not a single walk). Haydu has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Tyler Frate was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Anden Bender, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Revere has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-9 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Woodridge, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-15.

Coming up, Revere will take on Brush at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Woodridge will be paying especially close attention to the Minutemen's game: after the Minutemen face off against the Arcs, they'll take on Woodridge again at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
