There's no place like home for Denver Christian, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. Everything went their way against The Academy Wildcats on Thursday as they made off with a 13-3 victory. The Thunder might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by seven runs or more this season.

Mason Reilly made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. That's the most runs he has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, Trey Speir was a standout: he got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was James Lord, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Denver Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .423. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as The Academy only posted a batting average of .200.

Denver Christian's win bumped their record up to 9-3. As for The Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Denver Christian will face off against Peak to Peak at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Thunder's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Pumas have averaged an impressive 7.8 runs per game this season. As for The Academy, they will take on Prospect Ridge Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
