The Churubusco Eagles will take on the Manchester Squires at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Churubusco will be strutting in after a win while Manchester will be coming in after a defeat.
Churubusco is headed into the contest having just posted their biggest victory since November 9, 2024 two weeks ago. They breezed by Fort Wayne Canterbury to the tune of 50-23. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

Churubusco's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Patty Wiggs, who posted 13 points and three steals. Wiggs has been hot, having posted three or more steals the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jessica Price, who put up ten points and five steals.
Churubusco smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in November of 2023.
Meanwhile, Manchester lost to Northwestern on the road by a 47-33 margin on Friday. The Squires have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Churubusco will need focus on slowing down Allie Egolf, one of several Manchester players who made an impact when they last played. She earned nine points and five rebounds. The dominant performance gave Egolf a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Emma Walker, who had seven points in addition to six boards and three steals.
Manchester's loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Churubusco, their victory bumped their record up to 5-9.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Churubusco has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 26.8 boards per game. However, it's not like Manchester struggles in that department as they've been averaging 27.8 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
