The Passaic Valley Hornets's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight defeat. They suffered a tough 44-18 defeat at the hands of West Milford. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Passaic Valley has scored all season.
West Milford was led to victory by Aubrey Fritz and Laurel Space. Fritz scored 12 points along with six rebounds and three steals, while Space scored four points along with 11 steals and eight rebounds. It was the first time this season that Fritz grabbed two or more steals. Another player making a difference was Avery Vacca, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Passaic Valley has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-8 record this season. As for West Milford, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season.
Passaic Valley will head out on the road to take on the Patriots at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Wayne Hills presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Hornets in New Jersey (the Patriots are ranked 118th, while the Hornets are ranked 264th). As for West Milford, they and the Lancers will face off at 5:30 p.m. on February 1st without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Lakeland Regional is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
