Basketball Recap: Yavneh Academy Skates Past Cristo Rey Dallas College Prep with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Yavneh Academy). They blew past Cristo Rey Dallas College Prep 61-30 on Monday. With the Bulldogs ahead 41-11 at the half, the match was all but over already.

It was another big night for Lilly Yalovsky, who posted 23 points. Another player making a difference was Joie Tucker, who put up nine points.

Cristo Rey Dallas College Prep's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Liliana Arevalo, who had nine points. That's the most points Arevalo has posted since back in November of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Brianna Martinez, who earned six points.

Yavneh Academy has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 5-6 record this season. As for Cristo Rey Dallas College Prep, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-3.

Yavneh Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 51-43 loss against Bishop Gorman on the 10th. As for Cristo Rey Dallas College Prep, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 58-5 defeat against Prestonwood Christian North on the 10th.
