On Monday, Immokalee was beaten by DeSoto County 62-16. Immokalee was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-11.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead DeSoto County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cherish Wiggins, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 10 steals. Another player making a difference was Janeris Bing, who scored 18 points along with 5 assists and 5 steals.
This is the second loss in a row for Immokalee and nudges their season record down to 0-2. As for DeSoto County, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Immokalee won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Naples at 7:00 p.m. on November 28th. As for DeSoto County, they will head out on the road to face off against Lake Placid at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
