It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Gadsden County Jaguars had no problem doing just that on Monday. They were the clear victor by a 62-39 margin over the War Eagles. Gadsden County's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Despite the loss, Wakulla saw an underclassman step up: Amariyah Donaldson dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. Donaldson is crushing the block category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Xzaveria Robinson was another key contributor, scoring five points along with nine rebounds and three steals.
Gadsden County's victory bumped their record up to 6-11. As for Wakulla, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-12.
Gadsden County will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against the Cougars on February 7th. Godby presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Jaguars in Florida (the Cougars are ranked 229th, while the Jaguars are ranked 470th). Wakulla does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
