The Sioux County Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss. They were outmatched by Morrill on the road and fell 74-32. Sioux County was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-8.
Several Warriors players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Shane Gluth, who scored nine points along with ten rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was William Skavdahl, who scored five points along with 13 rebounds.
Wyler Fisher continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Morrill, scoring 21 points along with nine rebounds and six assists. Fisher continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Pittman Ashwin, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and six assists.
Sioux County's defeat was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Morrill, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sioux County will take on Arthur County at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nebraska (Arthur County is ranked 255th, while Sioux County is ranked 269th). As for Morrill, they the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Hemingford at 7:00 p.m. on February 1st. Hemingford has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
