Baseball Recap: Walker-Hackensack-Akeley Extends Home Winning Streak to Seven

Walker-Hackensack-Akeley had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 29-6 margin over the Lake Park-Audubon Raiders. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Wolves also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Gavin Swanson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Swanson was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, four RBI, and one double. That double marked the first that he has hit this season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Karch Frazier, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Caleb Crow was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Walker-Hackensack-Akeley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .630. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Walker-Hackensack-Akeley's victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.7 runs over those games. As for Lake Park-Audubon, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Coming up, Walker-Hackensack-Akeley will square off against Ogilvie at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lake Park-Audubon, they will challenge Mahnomen/Waubun at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Thunderbirds' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Raiders' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
